May Madness AYBT State Tournament

Facilities:

SCHEDULE IS POSTED.  PLEASE CHECK BACK ON THURSDAY NIGHT TO SEE IF THERE ARE CHANGES.  THERE WILL NOT BE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES - HOWEVER THERE ARE ALWAYS SOME CHANGES.THE TOURNAMENT BEGINS MONDAY AT 8:00 AM.  IF YOU ARE OPTING OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT, I NEED TO KNOW BY SUNDAY MORNING.  THERE ARE MEDALS FOR CHAMPIONS AND RUNNERS-UP.

Because of the popularity of the event, we had to add additional courts this year.  This event is held on the campus of Central Michigan University and one local facility (Morey Courts).  There are a total of 13 courts. Six courts we are using are located in the Student Activities Center. Seven additional courts will be added at a Morey Courts. THERE ARE TOURNAMENT GAMES ON MONDAY, MAY 31.  THOSE GAMES CANNOT BE POSTED TO A SCHEDULE, BECAUSE THE DRAW WILL BE late SUNDAY AFTERNOON NEAR THE END OF THE LAST GAMES.

Hotels:

BRING FANS IF YOU ARE STAYING IN DORMS.  THEY ARE NOT AIR CONDITIONED.

The most convenient place to stay are the dorm rooms at CMU.  Parents and coaches can stay in dorms also.  You will be furnished a pillow and linens and room keys.  Each dorm room has its own bathroom/shower and cable TV outlets. Each dorm room has two sets of bunk beds in it.   Bring your own TV if your kids want to play video games or watch TV.  We have purchased 250 meal plans for Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, Sunday lunch, Sunday dinner, and Monday breakfast.  CMU has revised the dorm costs and dorm rules this year.  Dorm costs are being charged at the rate of $62 per room per night.  Rooms can accomodate up to 4 people.  WHETHER ONE PERSON OR 4 PEOPLE STAY IN THE ROOM, IT IS $62 PER NIGHT.   I GUESS YOU COULD SAY THE PRICE PER PERSON IN A ROOM WHERE 4 PEOPLE STAY IS ONLY $15,50 PER PERSON PER NIGHT; AND THE COST IN A ROOM WHERE 3 PEOPLE STAY WOULD BE $20.67 PER PERSON PER NIGHT; AND TWO PEOPLE WOULD BE $31 PER PERSON PER NIGHT AND 1 PERSON IS $62 PER PERSON PER NIGHT.    THERE IS ALSO A ONE-TIME "CONFERENCE CHARGE" OF $11 PER PERSON REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY NIGHTS THEY STAY.  .  The meal prices package is $38 per person.      You must purchase the entire meal package.   We will sell tickets for individual meals only if we do not sell out of the meal plans.  lAST YEAR WE SOLD OUT OF MEAL PLANS.The coach of the team will be receiving  an excel spreadsheet to fill out and  return.  RETURN ALL SPREADSHEETS ELECTRONICALLY IF POSSIBLE  TO aybtdennyp@hotmail.com.  If you need to send it then send  to AYBT Headquaters at 423 Sycamore St., Suite 105, Niles, MI  49120 or fax to Denny Parks (269) 684-2072.  All checks for food and dorm costs can be made payable to AYBT and can be paid at registration. 

NOTE:  YOU MUST CHECK OUT BY NOON ON MONDAY.  The dorms we are using this year are Woldt and Emmons Hall.  These ar located behind Saxe-Herrig Halls which are right across the strret from the student activity center.  THESE ARE DIFFERENT DORMS THAN WE HAVE USED IN THE PAST.
